Bias-correction schemes for calibrated flow in a conceptual hydrological model

چکیده

Abstract We explore post-processing methods that can reduce biases in simulated flow a hydrological model (HYMOD). Here, three bias-correction are compared using set of calibrated parameters as baseline (Cases 1 and 5). The proposed based on duration curve (Case 2), an autoregressive residuals obtained from flows 3), rating 4). A clear seasonality representing more substantial variability winter than summer was evident all cases. extended range usually observed winter, indicating the HYMOD may not reproduce high appropriately. This study confirmed bias-corrected effective terms correcting systematic error flow. Moreover, comparison root mean square over different regimes demonstrates Case 3 is most at entire regime. Finally, monthly water balances for cases evaluated during both calibration validation periods. balance also closer to values. effects approaches performance examined discussed.

Stochastic bias-correction of daily rainfall scenarios for hydrological applications

The accuracy of rainfall predictions provided by climate models is crucial for the assessment of climate change impacts on hydrological processes. In fact, the presence of bias in downscaled precipitation may produce large bias in the assessment of soil moisture dynamics, river flows and groundwater recharge. In this study, a comparison between statistical properties of rainfall observations an...

Comparison of two integration schemes for a micropolar plasticity model

Micropolar plasticity provides the capability to carry out post-failure simulations of geo-structures due to microstructural considerations and embedded length scale in its formulation. An essential part of the numerical implementation of a micropolar plasticity model is the integration of the rate constitutive equations. Efficiency and robustness of the implementation hinge on the type of int...

On the Performance of a Radiometrically-calibrated Scene-based Bias Nonuniformity Correction for Infrared FPA Cameras

We report on the performance of a recently developed algorithm for which a limited form of black-body-based calibration is integrated into a special algebraic scenebased algorithm for nonuniformity correction (NUC) in infrared focal-plane arrays. The result of this integration is a scene-based NUC algorithm that is radiometrically accurate. By calibrating only those detectors that are on the ar...

A comparative study of quantitative mapping methods for bias correction of ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data

This study evaluates the ability of different quantitative mapping (QM) methods as a bias correction technique for ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data. Climate type and geographical location can affect the performance of the bias correction method due to differences in precipitation characteristics. For this purpose, ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data for the years 1989-2019 for 10 selected syno...
